The Flying Biscuit Café recently opened in June 2025 in downtown Spartanburg. For the first couple of weeks of opening, the Café delivered enticing deals for their first customers. Promising gift cards to people who advertised it on their social media, The Flying Biscuit Café made a loud introduction into the Spartanburg community. Every Wednesday, as part of their grand opening specials, teachers and school administrators are offered 50 percent off as a thank you for their hard work. Similarly, on Tuesdays, students are offered 50 percent off with a valid school identification.
The Flying Biscuit Café’s classic Southern menu delivers many people with their favorite comfort foods. Opened for breakfast, brunch and lunch, it has become a popular place to eat. It provides an assortment of different breakfast foods and offers many vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options for people with dietary needs. Its brightly colored interior and optional outside seating also provide a fun and spirited atmosphere.
Elizabeth Reynolds (11) enjoys trying new restaurants, especially when they are close to home.
“I went to the Flying Biscuit Café this summer with my cousins, and it was so delicious. I ordered the honey butter chicken and waffle, and it was the perfect combination of savory and sweet that hit the spot,” Reynolds said.
Jim’ N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, a restaurant chain founded in 1985, recently moved into Spartanburg. Its laid-back vibe has piqued the interest of locals, earning them raving reviews on the authenticity of the atmosphere. Its renowned brisket, pulled pork and mac and cheese have caught the attention of barbecue lovers. Being located around popular shopping stores makes it an easy place to stop for lunch.
Excited about the new restaurant opportunities, Kirkland Bailey (9) is looking forward to trying new food.
“I have not eaten at any new restaurants in Spartanburg, but I have heard Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q and The Flying Biscuit Café are really good,” Bailey said.
Roll in Cuban Shack recently opened on Cedar Springs Road, bringing opportunities to try food from a different culture. It provides traditional Cuban cuisine that ranges from flavorful main courses and fruity drinks to delicious pastries and a cup of coffee. The restaurant, which started as a food truck, has now moved into a more permanent location. Its extremely loveable staff and unique food make it a wonderful place to grab a bite to eat.
