One of the most popular trends since 2022, when the “ELVIS” movie came out, has been biopic movies. Biopics are movies that emphasize the life of a celebrity. In 2024, Timothée Chalamet headlined as Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown,” and now Jeremy Allen White will be starring as Bruce Springsteen in “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,” coming out in theaters in late October.
Austin Butler acted as Elvis Presley in “ELVIS.” In preparation for his role, Butler practiced ample vocal training and attended dialect classes to obtain the Presley voice. Butler listened to Presley’s music in chronological order, he read books on Presley and he watched all of Presley’s movies. He did everything to soak up Presley’s mannerisms and personality, according to Screendaily.com. Once his infatuating role of playing Presley ended, Bulter couldn’t seem to shake away the accent. After years of training and practicing for his voice to be southern and husky like Presley, he became accustomed to his newfound sound. Butler states during a speech at the 80th Golden Globe Awards that, “I’m sure that there’s just pieces of my DNA that will always be linked in that way.”
Sara Wells (10) is impressed by the dedication and talent presented by Butler in his role as Elvis Presley.
“I think it was admirable how dedicated he was to perfecting the role. If I remember correctly, he did an interview afterward where he said the role semi-permanently changed his voice to be more like Elvis’s real voice. So, I do think he was a good choice for this role, and it fit him well,” Wells said.
“A Complete Unknown” is a movie that arranges events and experiences from Dylan’s life to bring the story of his fame to life. Chalamet spent five years preparing for his role as Dylan. Even during the COVID-19 global shutdown, Chalamet continued to work. He watched any video performance of Dylan he could find and listened to his records. Due to Chalamet’s incredible performance, he earned the Screen Actors Guild award for male actor in a leading role in 2025.
Emmy Dyar (10) is very impressed with Chalamet’s performance of a lifetime in “A Complete Unknown.”
“I think Timothee Chalamet portrayed Bob Dylan very well,” Dyar said.
According to cbsnews.com, White went through emotional changes to play Springsteen. The movie “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” is about Springsteen during his sixth album, “Nebraska.” The album was such a momentous occasion for Springsteen during a time of hardship and turmoil. White’s transition to play such an icon was difficult but rewarding.
Jackson Raynor (11) is excited for the release of the “Springsteen” movie on Oct. 24, 2025.
“Jeremy Allen White is a really good actor, and I believe it will be his best performance yet,” Raynor said.
