On May 1, 2026, the Class of 2026 took to Viking Stadium to celebrate one of their last events together before graduation. Seniors dressed in their college shirts, athletic attire or shirts that showed off their future careers to celebrate the year coming to a close.
The day started with students meeting in the gym to discuss graduation plans and distribute yearbooks. The yearbook staff presented the first two yearbooks to Principal Andrew McMillan and Senior Class President, Callie Crocker (12). Seniors rushed to grab their yearbooks, flipping through pages that encapsulated their senior year memories.
Yearbooks were signed and seniors made their way outside to take part in the field day festivities. Multiple areas were set up with fun activities such as volleyball, rock climbing, kickball, jousting, ultimate frisbee and a mechanical bull to ride. In between, students took photos with their friends to cherish their final days of senior year.

Spartanburg High School prepares seniors for a successful future by displaying a wide variety of clubs, organizations and mentorship programs. As students endure the weight of high school it is vital that they have a group to rely on. Groups like choir, Girls United, Envirothon and Black History club are just a small sampling of all there is to encourage students to grow individually and academically.
Javian Smith (12) has evolved through his years at SHS.
“Over the course of four years, SHS has helped me become a more loving and caring person,” Smith said. “I have been in choir for three years and it has been what has made high school a really great experience. I have enjoyed every second of it.”
SHS students are equipped with the necessary tools to flourish. Spartan High is a hub of internships and other academic opportunities that help gear students up for their future careers.
Presley Goudelock (12) will forever look back on her valuable time spent at SHS.
“SHS provided a place I felt comfortable to learn and grow as a person. It offered potential opportunities for internship and experiences,” Goudelock said. “Overall, I have developed a lot since my freshman year, because of the people I have met through Spartan High.”
