Goodbye Culinary Corner

A bittersweet end

Matthew Beyer, Co-Editor-in-Chief/Centerspread/Columns Edito

For the past three years, I have been finding festive desserts to share with my community. I would like to thank Jackson Edwards, Mrs. Eaton, and my former editors-in-chief for all of their support throughout my time on the Norse News staff.

For my final recipe, I have decided to commemorate my time with a farewell Culinary Corner cake. This cake is great for any special occasions and is super easy to make. The ingredients needed for this cake include all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, vegetable oil, eggs, pure vanilla extract, buttermilk, and hot coffee.

The cake is moist, has a creamy frosting, is fluffy and not too dense, it has a balance of bitterness and sweetness that in the end leaves a satisfying taste on the palate.

While my time here has been unforgettable, my journey continues, leaving me with the same bittersweet taste as this chocolatey-chip cake.
