DreamWorks has announced the release of the fourth “Kung Fu Panda” movie, and it is scheduled to release in mid-March. Originally released in 2008, “The Legend of the Dragon Warrior” has spanned three movies so far with the protagonist, the loveable panda Po, going through a journey of self-discovery and achievement. Backed by his friends and fighting companions, the Furious Five, the Kung Fu Panda movies have always been a well-loved crowd favorite. Announced by Jack Black, the voice actor of Po at CinemaCon, this new movie has garnered lots of attention from the public as people are eager to see what new adventures Po and his friends will go on.
Fritz Russell (12) cannot wait for the new movie because he is a big fan of the Kung Fu Panda movies.
“When I saw that there was a new Kung Fu Panda movie coming out, I was super excited. I have loved the series since I was a kid and am a huge fan of Po,” Russell said.
In this new story, Po will leave the Valley of Peace to go to the big city where he will fight the most challenging villain yet, the Chameleon. Along with this, Po must find the new dragon warrior, knowing he cannot be the keeper of peace in the valley forever. With intense martial arts sequences and heartwarming moments, the film explores themes of resilience, self-discovery and the bonds of friendship.
Jax Heely (11) loves the Kung Fu Panda series.
“I am super excited for the new Kung Fu Panda movie to come out because of the nostalgia that it will bring. I’ve watched all of the movies and can’t wait for the new one to come out,” Heely said.
The film boasts an all-star cast, with Jack Black reprising his role as the voice of Po. Joining him are acclaimed actors Angelina Jolie (Tigress), Dustin Hoffman (Master Shifu), Jackie Chan (Monkey), Seth Rogen (Mantis), Lucy Liu (Viper) and David Cross (Crane), who lend their talents to bring the beloved characters to life once again. In addition, Awkwafina is joining the cast as the thief Zen who is trained by Po to be the next dragon warrior. Other new voices include Oscar winners Viola Davis as Chameleon and Ke Huye Quan as Han. Directed by renowned filmmaker Jennifer Yuh Nelson, “Kung Fu Panda 4” promises to captivate audiences with its breathtaking animation and epic storytelling.
Despite the initial positive reviews, Walker Nunes (11) says he has doubts about the new movie.
“I don’t want another Kung Fu Panda movie because they run the risk of ruining the story that they’ve made with unnecessary characters and plot changes. Also, the animation style looks different compared to the nostalgic animation from the late 2000s. But I’m hopeful that the movie will be good and keep the Kung Fu Panda movies alive,” Nunes said.
