Kevin Hart is a famous American comedian and actor, known for his lighthearted jokes and creative skits. Hart has won several stand-up comedy competitions and decided to share his talent with the city of Spartanburg. On Saturday, Feb. 24, Hart performed his comedy show where he showcased his “Brand New Material” tour at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. While the showcase was a surprise to many, the people of Spartanburg jumped at the chance to see the comedian live.
Mayor of Spartanburg, Jerome Rice attended the show and is beyond grateful for the opportunity to have someone so special come into town.
“The show was very good, especially to have an A-List comedian movie star come into Spartanburg. It was super cool to have him perform in a small town like ours,” Rice said.
Hart has played several roles in popular films such as his roles in the Jumanji sequels including “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017) and “Jumanji: The Next Level” (2019), “Ride Along” (2014), “Think Like a Man” (2012), “Scary Movie 3” (20003) and “Undeclared” (2001). It is truly incredible to know that Hart made an appearance in the city of Spartanburg, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces and laughs to the people’s hearts. His performance made such a tremendous impact on the audience through his enthusiastic personality. Hart brought amazing energy into the atmosphere, creating a positive and exciting environment.
Hart plans on traveling around to many different states and cities, and remarkably South Carolina was one of his first stops.
According to postandcourier.com, “Famed comedian Kevin Hart will launch his national ‘Brand New Material’ tour later this month and will return for another South Carolina Show in North Charleston. The Tour starts off February 24, at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium for a 7 pm show. He will return to South Carolina again to the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on March 9, at 7 p.m.”
For the city of Spartanburg to gain recognition from Hart shows how Spartanburg is progressively growing as a whole.
Coach and ISS coordinator Bennie Gibson came to watch Kevin Hart in action and was very satisfied with the amusing experience.
“There were thousands of people from everywhere around the world that came to watch the show. I thought Kevin Hart did an amazing job. He was extremely funny and the whole experience definitely exceeded my expectations. Even though we’ve had famous people come in town before, the difference is that Kevin really gave Spartanburg more exposure,” Gibson said.
