Kristin Juszcyk is not only the wife of San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszcyk, but she is also an up-and-coming fashion designer. Juszcyk recently gained attention for her clever designs and stylish use of NFL jerseys. Known most for making jackets and skirts that show off NFL logos and player’s numbers, Juszcyk has made a serious impact on the NFL.
Juszcyk started her fashion company in 2018, after she moved from Maryland to San Francisco to support her future husband. She named the fashion company Origin, and in an interview with “Niners Nation,” stated that she was inspired by her family of entrepreneurs to create unique and meaningful pieces of fashion.
While her customers started out local, Juszcyk soon became a worldwide sensation as she started outfitting other wives and partners of football legends. One of the most popular designs include the Kansas City Chiefs jacket that hit singer Taylor Swift wore to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, during one of his games in January against the Miami Dolphins. Swift and Britney Mahomes, the owner of a professional women’s soccer team and wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, wore matching jackets designed by Juszcyk featuring the numbers of their respective partners. The two jackets garnered immense interest on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram and brought Juszcyk’s name, and designs, into the limelight.
In an interview with “E! News,” Juszcyk discusses how impactful that game, and that jacket, were to her career.
“She (Swift) single-handedly catapulted my career,” Juszcyk said. “I’ve been at this for years. When I saw her walk out in that jacket, it just like, brought me to tears.”
Other celebrities such as Taylor Lautner, Olivia Culpo, and Simone Biles started wearing Juszcyk’s designs to football games and other social events, and the NFL soon reached out to offer Juszcyk a licensing deal.
When speaking to “PEOPLE” magazine about how important this deal was to her, Juszcyk remembers all that she has worked for in the past few years to get to this point in her career.
“I’ve been at this for a few years now, and I’ve been told ‘no’ many times or that we just don’t have the space for that,” Juszcyk said. “This is something that I’ve been so passionate about. I feel like there’s a huge gap in the market, and I have so many designs that I know women want. It’s just a matter of being able to get it out there.”
Brady Swink (12) originally watched the Super Bowl for the halftime show, but Juszcyk’s designs quickly caught her eye.
“I loved seeing her designs, especially at the Super Bowl. I really liked the jacket she made for Taylor Swift and can’t wait to see what she comes up with in the future,” Swink said.
